Grants and Contributions
About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Flux Consolidated UI Design
1005631
Fortran’s FLUX ATMS (Advanced Traffic Management System) serves municipalities with their day-to-day roadway traffic operations. The ATMS is comprised of advanced engineering running in the Backend (BE) and coupled with a customer-facing Frontend (FE) that is entirely browser-based. The existing FE is based on a legacy framework(s) that Fortran is looking to replace with today’s industry-standard framework, “React”. While migrating to React, the FE User-Interface (UI) will also be updated to make it more modern, using MUI. The project will yield a fresh FE framework with a fresh UI to go along with it.

Enhancement of the Connected Vehicle Signal Priority (CVSP) Platform
979895
The goal of this project is to enhance the novel Connected Vehicle Platform to communicate traffic signal timing information to the driver and to implement real-time adjustment of the signal timing using the real-time connected vehicle information. This will provide priority to the vehicle. The enhancement will include improvements in the performance of the algorithms and analytics and implementation of the preemption functionality. As part of this project the developed technology will be piloted in a partner Regional Municipality in Ontario.

Green Youth - Traffic Signal Timing Estimation and Optimization
925063
The Fortran GLIDE I2V (Infrastructure to Vehicle) solution provides operational information from traffic signals to drivers in a format that will allow a driver to make more informed decisions regarding the operation of their vehicle. This will have the effect of decreasing the amount of fuel consumed, reducing the number of stops, lowering emissions as well as easing driver frustration. This project involves development of algorithms to accurately estimate the timing of the traffic signal as well as development of methods to use this information for optimization of traffic signal timing.

GREEN YOUTH: Estimation of Traffic Signal Timing for Vehicle in Infrastructure Application
905533
The ability to have a glimpse into what a traffic signal is going to do next, while driving a vehicle can provide multitude of benefits including reduction of travel time and hence reduction of GHG emissions. Fortran Glide I2V solution provides operational information from traffic signals to drivers in a format that will allow a driver to make more informed decisions. The objective of this project is enhancement of the existing algorithms to provide more accurate estimation of traffic signal timing to the drivers.
