Grants and Contributions
About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

RAVENS (Real-time Arctic Visualization Environment Networking SBEO)
22AO2-KONG
This project provides an unclassified multi-domain situational awareness tool to merge the airborne track picture (Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast) with the maritime track picture (Automatic Identification System) integrated with geospatial decision support tools providing rapid situational awareness accessible anywhere in the world via space-based Internet access. This near real-time picture of vehicle movements, combined with real-time weather and geospatial data will allow commanders to make informed decisions, anywhere, anytime wherever deployed around the world.

OVERSEE – Optical Vision Enhancement and Refinement of Sensor Exploitation Effectiveness
21445
This project hopes to help GSAR volunteers save lives in isolated communities using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAS) assets until CAF or other aeronautical SAR resources arrive by providing remote community SAR operators with the knowledge of how best to use inexpensive and easily accessible Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) UAS resources and Situational Awareness applications.

Standards-based UAS Interoperability Test-bed (SUIT)
940469
The SUIT project will develop a control station that can monitor and control Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) in addition to autonomous driving and/or marine vehicles simultaneously. It will provide a control system that can control different sensors on multiple vehicles in multiple domains simultaneously. The adoption of industry standards to enable this interoperable control capability will create a strong value proposition based upon reduced cost of integration with different vehicle and sensor types for UAS and other autonomous vehicles.

Large Area Unmanned Vehicle Beyond Visual Line Of Sight Command Center (IRIS Command)
886635
Kongsberg Geospatial will develop a version of the IRIS UAS operator display to be used within Regional Command Centres to monitor dense UAS air traffic within large geographic areas such as cities or counties.
