Grants and Contributions

Project activities include: (1) training health service providers to improve provision of nutrition information and services (e.g. iron folic acid supplementation, antenatal care, exclusive breastfeeding, complementary feeding, zinc complements, among others); (2) raising awareness in communities to promote equal caregiving responsibilities among parents, and improve feeding practices for CU5; (3) advocating for the integration of nutrition interventions in key programs such as cash transfer program and food supplementation initiatives of the national government; (4) building the capacity of local government officials and health service providers to better track and report on nutrition interventions across relevant sectors and programs (e.g. food security, education, social welfare); and (5) engaging civil society and women’s rights organizations in nutrition planning and monitoring at the municipal level.

Overall, the project will indirectly reach 258,000 people by improving national policies and mobilizing green financing for the socioeconomic empowerment of young women and women.

Project activities include: (1) processing and disseminating data, research papers, and communication materials with almost 100 contributing countries; (2) maintaining the TOSSD database and website; (3) organizing and facilitating key meetings annually, working closely with the United Nations (UN), including the UN Statistical Commission and the Economic and Social Council; and (4) allocating resources for human resources, logistics, and information technology, which are essential for maintaining the data repositories, organizing meetings, and producing communication materials.

The project will contribute to increased resilience against foreign and national information operations that seek to erode the quality of democracy and the international rules-based order.

It will support targeted knowledge development and innovation to sustain and enhance the Canadian capacity to use space to address national needs and priorities in the future.

The Announcement of opportunity “ Flights for the Advancement of Science and Technology (FAST)” aims at:
- Fostering the continuing development of a critical mass of researchers and HQP by providing a training ground for both the current and next generation of scientists and engineers;
- Supporting the development of science and technology relevant to the priorities of the CSA through the use of research platforms including stratospheric balloons, aircraft, sounding rockets, nanosatellites, cubesats, ground-based facilities and field sites.

Working with the Government of Vietnam and the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, an umbrella group for cooperatives, the project aims to: (1) provide assistance to the Government of Vietnam to develop a national strategy to scale-up and replicate the success of high-performance cooperatives; (2) facilitate knowledge exchanges between Canadian agricultural cooperatives and Vietnamese agricultural officials and farmers; (3) develop and implement awareness campaigns on the value of cooperatives; (4) develop funding mechanisms to enable cooperatives to acquire new technology for the processing and marketing of agricultural products; (5) assist cooperatives to develop and implement business plans; (6) develop and deliver training programs on governance and gender equality to board members, managers and employees of cooperatives; (7) provide training to farmers on environmentally sustainable agricultural production techniques, such as the safe application of fertilizer and pesticides, and post-harvest handling in order to meet quality certification standards and access new markets.

This will allow WIMC to engage on a national level, and support partner organizations trying to tackle gender barriers and increase opportunities for underserved women and gender-diverse individuals in the industry.

Conscious Economics will also create a national awareness campaign about the needs of intersectional women gig-workers and the barriers they face, using a heart-centred approach that is mindful of the emotional, social, and systemic issues that prevent women from thriving at work.

This project will partner with local and national media outlets to shift the representations of immigrant and migrant sex workers.

This project will bring together women, business stakeholders and leaders, along with the support from organizations and partners such as with Femmocracy Now, the New Brunswick Multicultural Council and First Nations, to share on best practices and GBA+ principles.
