The project complements Canada's Cooperation Programming in Cuba as it promotes gender equality and women rights. Specifically, the project would increase awareness of women’s rights in Cuba while promoting public debates on Gender-based Violence through 1) a press conference and a forum debate in Havana and 2) screening of a documentary on gender issues in Ciego de Avila province. The project would also produce communication products for events' participants and social media platform.

This project seeks to create an enabling entrepreneurship ecosystem for low-income women and youth in West Bank and Gaza. Inspired by the concept of Obader (Arabic for ‘I initiate’), the project aims to reduce structural and social barriers to entrepreneurship, while simultaneously working to increase business opportunities for women and youth to successfully start-up, sustain, manage and grow environmentally conscious and sustainable businesses. Project activities include: (1) designing and delivering a media campaign to raise and challenge perceptions and attitudes towards women’s economic participation, entrepreneurship, and women in non-traditional enterprises and roles; (2) conducting awareness sessions promoting entrepreneurship; (3) delivering a capacity-building package including training, exchange visits and role modelling to women entrepreneurs; and (4) holding networking and information sessions between micro-finance institutions, banks, business development centres, incubators, accelerators and youth entrepreneurs.

The Humanitarian Coalition is made up of nine Canadian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that include: Canadian Foodgrains Bank, Canadian Lutheran World Relief, CARE Canada, Islamic Relief Canada, Oxfam Canada, Oxfam-Québec, Plan International Canada, Save the Children Canada and World Vision Canada.

Specifically, the project will address systemic barriers within [Ontario’s Care Economy] by adapting Oxfam Canada’s care economy score card to the Ontario context, assessing Ontario’s care economy using the adapted scorecard, and mobilizing the results.

With GAC’s support, in a consortium led by Care Canada; Care, CLWR and Oxfam will respond to the emergency needs of people affected by the Sudan crisis in Sudan, Chad and South Sudan.

This initiative, delivered in partnership with Dignity Network Canada and in collaboration with Égides, Oxfam Canada, Cooperation Canada, and other local organizations, policymakers, and partners, will strengthen Canadian 2SLGBTQI advocacy by providing practical tools and resources, fostering long-term collaboration, and addressing systemic barriers to equality.
