The objective of this project is to host a two-day summit that would bring together up to 200 First Nations leaders, Protein Industries Canada (PIC) and other industry leaders, to provide information related to the Supercluster development, generate collaboration and inclusion, discuss opportunities, and gather data to assess program needs in relation to interests and requirements of First Nations and agriculture sector partners.

The project will identify opportunities for Indigenous Peoples in the plant-based protein industry through the Protein Industries Canada Supercluster, with a key outcome being gathering information to develop and implement the training/education necessary to bridge a gap between having the resources available (i.e., land) and needing the tools (i.e., expertise, access to markets) to support Indigenous participation in the sector, from production to marketing.
