Description:
The objective of the project is to involve the intern in the activities of the diversified, certified organic farm producing a range of meat and wool products for direct-marketing to the consumer. The farm raises certified organic Icelandic sheep, pastured pork, certified organic poultry, and a small amount of 100% grass-fed beef. The intern would be involved in all areas of farm management and operations, including namely: grazing management, daily care of animals, flock/herd health, infrastructure development (fencing, water), educational events on the farm, and helping with farmers' markets.
