Agreement Date:
Apr 9, 2021 - Mar 31, 2024
Description:
The objective of this project is to develop algorithms that will integrate pre-calving metabolic parameters of multiparous dairy cattle, as well as historical production and health data of the animal and the herd to predict, during lactation, the risks of 1) loss of production; 2) health problems; 3) reproductive problems; 4) culling; and 5) mortality. All of this will be integrated into a bilingual web platform available to all Canadians....
Organization:
Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada
Expected Results:

The goal of the project is to understand and integrate the history of dairy cattle, their environment, practices and farm management with metabolic profile analysis using machine learning to identify, qualify and quantify, from serum collected during the transition period, the risks for a multiparous dairy cow to have health, reproductive and production loss problems during lactation.
