Grants and Contributions:
The creation of the land-based learning environment will enable youth to be engaged in agricultural practices that are culturally relevant and will allow them to be taught valuable skills at a young age in the school's curriculum. Further to this, the project has the potential to foster their interest in a career in the agriculture sector. The project will also provide an opportunity for the community to achieve food sovereignty by providing an accessible space to grow and harvest fresh and nutritious foods.
The AgriDiversity Program (ADP) -helps under- represented groups in Canadian agriculture, including youth, women, Indigenous Peoples, and persons with disabilities, to fully participate in the sector by helping these groups address the key issues and barriers they often face for sector participation.
