Grants and Contributions:
The AgriDiversity Program strengthens the agriculture and agri-food sector by building its capacity through projects that:
• help Indigenous Peoples and members of other underrepresented and marginalized groups (URMG) develop leadership skills;
• build entrepreneurial capacity and business skills of URMG;
• facilitate the sharing of industry experience, best practices, and knowledge to help URMG manage transformation and adapt to changes in their business operations; and/or
• strengthen the sector by incorporating views from a greater diversity of sector players.
Amendment#1 reflects to release funds may be utilized by other departmental commitments and avoid lapsing program funds.
The AgriDiversity Program helps underrepresented groups in Canadian agriculture, including youth, women, Indigenous Peoples, and persons with disabilities, to fully participate in the sector by helping these groups address the key issues and barriers they often face for sector participation.
