This project aims to ensure long-term sustainability of the Canadian apple industry by increasing consumer demand and grower returns for the widely planted Ambrosia variety, and introducing a new Canadian variety ("1080") with good export potential. This project will enhance brand recognition for Canadian Ambrosia apples in domestic and priority export markets, which will increase market value and reduce Ambrosia price volatility, as well as promote market diversification and import displacement.
