Grants and Contributions:
AgriAssurance projects result in one or more of the following benefits:
-build industry capacity to increase public confidence in the food system;
-respond to market and regulatory requirements; and/or
-meet consumer demands, through the development, integration and improvement of industry-led assurance systems.
To support industry to develop, verify and integrate assurance systems to address market and regulatory requirements (e.g. food safety, plant and animal health surveillance, animal welfare, environmental sustainability, traceability, market attributes and quality standards) and enable industry to make credible, meaningful and verifiable claims about the health, safety, and quality of Canadian agriculture products. The National Industry Association Component, will support not-for-profit industry organizations to develop or improve national assurance initiatives that aid their sector in managing risks and/or ensuring product safety and quality.
