Description:
This project aims to produce high quality protein concentrates and starch-rich flour from pulses (lentil, chickpea, yellow pea and faba bean) for the food industry using dry fractionation technology. By demonstrating that dry fractionation technology can produce high quality pulse ingredients, this project’s objective is to validate that dry fractionation is a commercially viable alternative to wet fractionation and contributes to displace ingredients being imported from overseas.

Expected Results:

The two main objective is to prove Comte Industries Ltd. (Comte) grain bins are capable of drying grain with a focus on high moisture corn, and to finalize the grain bin design. At the end of this project Comte is aiming to have a market ready solution.
