Description:
The objective of this project is to fund the OECD to organize a workshop which will inform the development of an OECD report/analysis on policy approaches that enable pursuing higher domestic environmental goals for the agricultural sector. There will be an emphasis on the reduction of GHG emissions, while facilitating the functioning of international agricultural markets.
The workshop will focus on the following three areas of discussion:
• The nature of the challenge regarding both the environmental issue and the economic consideration
• The key policy levers to address the challenge, and their expected economic effects, including domestic policy alternatives
• The factors that need to be accounted for when considering using these policy instruments include international and domestic political feasibility, timing and opportunity, and policy necessary elements
