Description:
The objective of this project is to assist PEI potato sector with both the diversion and destruction of surplus potatoes due to the impact the detection of potato wart in the province has had on markets. Assistance towards the costs associated with the diversion of potatoes to alternative markets and processing, as well as the environmentally-sound disposal of surplus potatoes will be provided through the PEI Potato Board, and will be further distributed to ultimate recipients based on recorded disposal of potato surpluses.

Expected Results:
The objective of this project is to provide assistance to allow the diversion of a portion of surplus potatoes to alternative markets, as well as support the costs associated with storage, transportations and destruction of surplus potatoes for which a market was not defined.
