This project aims to increase the productivity and halal/kosher capacity of Viandes Lafrance through targeted investments: specialized production line equipment to optimize productivity, fixed and mobile refrigeration, an ERP system (inventory, margins, traceability), production, and operations, as well as processing units (cutting/trim rooms) to optimize yield, compliance, and sustainability.

Program Purpose:
The Kosher and Halal Investment Program (KHIP) is to help Canadian federally licensed red meat (beef and veal) slaughter establishments, processing kosher and/or halal red meat, make timely investments that directly respond to specific challenges that their facility faces. Investments support provides flexibility to ensure that each facility is able to directly address their limitations in a way that will help them overcome the inherent and unique challenges that occur during the production of kosher and/or halal red meat. If approved, funding support is available in the form of a non-repayable contribution from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
