Description:
This project aims to identify and implement optimal, innovative antimicrobial solutions to combat Listeria monocytogenes and Escherichia coli in the Canadian agri-food industry. By validating these solutions under both laboratory and industrial conditions, the project seeks to enhance food safety, reduce the incidence of recalls and associated costs, and improve the overall quality and reputation of food products, all while addressing consumer demand for natural alternatives and minimizing health and environmental risks.
Organization:
Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada
Expected Results:

The project involves applying Pediocine PA-1-M31L (INNEO), a natural antimicrobial agent, via spraying to combat Listeria monocytogenes, a foodborne pathogen.
