Expected Results:
The project is expected to:
- Co-develop immediate disease control strategies of MSX
- Enhance diagnostic capabilities through diagnostic testing tools, laboratory infrastructure, dedicated equipment and machine learning (ML) models for disease detection
- Improve the understanding of disease risk factors and patterns of spread and develop long-term control strategies of diseases and mortality loss
- Coordinate stakeholders and data sharing to establish real-time data sharing methods, through a share dashboard for disease and growth trends, outbreak updates, prevention tactics and research development among growers, scientists and policymakers
- Analysis of the socio-economic impacts of disease on the shellfish industry
- Development of climate adaptation solutions to support the long-term sustainability and growth of the industry
