Description:
A two-year project to purchase a community wood chipper and tractor to support the development of a local willow feedstock that will supply sustainable heat generation operations in Fort McPherson, NWT. RRDC will purchase a Laimet high-speed wood chipper and a Kubota M135 tractor as part of this project, which will serve to power the wood chipper and also facilitate the transportation of raw material and willow chips.

As a result of this project, the community of Fort McPherson will own a wood chipper and a tractor that will be used to develop a local biomass feedstock of willow chips as part of its ongoing Willow to Energy initiative.
