Description:
Deliver a pan-territorial cohort-based business accelerator program for earlystage Indigenous entrepreneurs. EntrepreNorth will offer an annual, sector-driven business accelerator program which aims to build entrepreneurial capacity, grow small business, and get Indigenous entrepreneurs and ventures investment ready. The 9-month program offers its cohort of 8-10 participants, from across Nunavut, the NWT and Yukon, a series of intensive inperson and online interactive sessions, one-on-one business mentorship and life coaching support.

Expected Results:

As a result of this project, two new full-time positions will be created and another two existing full-time positions will be expanded to support EntrepreNorth’s programming. It is also expected that EntrepreNorth will increase the capacity of northern Indigenous entrepreneurs to take part in economic opportunities and create sustainable businesses in the North. This mobilization of entrepreneurs through EntrepreNorth's programming is expected to yield sustainable livelihoods for northerners and support the development of local economic diversification and increased indigenous-owned capital assets across all three territories.

Inclusive Diversification and Economic Advancement in the North (IDEANorth) makes foundational investments in economic infrastructure, sector development and capacity building to help position Northerners in the territories to take advantage of Canada's innovation economy. The IDEANorth program focuses on four priority areas: economic growth and sector development; business scale-up, productivity and innovation; small-scale economic infrastructure development; and foundational economic infrastructure.
