Description:
A feasibility study, legal framework and marketing strategy for a food cooperative that will be located in Dawson City, Yukon. The goal is to create a multi stakeholder, democratically-run cooperative that will operate a retail grocery store in Dawson City, Yukon. The cooperative’s objective will be to provide people in the Klondike region the opportunity to make healthy, environmentally and socially responsible spending choices by providing access to high quality foods that are priced fairly and which are chosen with commitment to local production and sustainable agriculture. The cooperative will ultimately foster connections between the community, food producers and consumers through a business model based upon cooperative principles.
