Develop and promote Hay River as a tourism destination. Hay River’s 2020 Tourism Development Plan identifies key community tourism infrastructure investments necessary for the growth and development of tourism opportunities. This project will support those investments and enable the Town to partner with tourism operators to develop market-ready tourism products and services. The project activities include procurement of multipurpose flooring and conference equipment for the community center and expanding the capacity of the Porritt Landing Marina by purchasing seasonal docking. The Town will also create marketing and promotional materials for conferences, accommodations, and local and attractions, purchase trade show equipment, improve its tourism website and carry out a targeted digital and traditional advertising.
