Description:
Purchase Blue Stone Holdings (BSH) of Watson Lake; a seller of sand, gravel, concrete and related products. Bluestone manufacturers and supplies precast and redi-mix concrete and aggregates from its Watson Lake quarry to construction projects in south east Yukon and Northern BC. This purchase will allow IKC to expand its range of construction supply and related service activities. This purchase will complement IKC’s existing construction operations. It is expected that 5 jobs will be created for local residents of Liard First Nation and Watson Lake.

Expected Results:
The increases scale of the entity will create more critical mass in heavy equipment maintenance increasing the amount of repair work done with local staff and opportunities for apprentice heavy duty mechanics to train under journeymen. The project will open up employment opportunities for Liard First Nation members and other northerners. Increased business activity will have general multiplier benefits in southeast Yukon.
