Description:

Construct and property manage a new multi-use building in Taloyoak Nunavut. The building will have an area of 3,100 sq.ft. with space allocated to offices, board room, kitchenette, washrooms, janitorial and storage. The goal of this project is to provide offices for new and existing Kitikmeot Inuit Association employees engaged in front line service and program delivery. It will also provide high-quality meeting space, for up to 40 people, for use by KIA and other parties.

Expected Results:

This project will create 3 full time positions in the area of long-term maintenance and janitorial contracts. The construction of the building will create short-term construction employment and sub-contraction opportunities. This project also address the lack of facilities in Taloyoak available to support employment and skills training, community development activities and social/cultural programming.
