Expected Results:

Investments through this project will have cultural benefits by repairing and improving the Elders Qammaq, which will provide a space for elders to gather for leisure and traditional activities. The project will also benefit the health and wellbeing of Iqaluit residents by investing in outdoor and indoor recreational infrastructure that is important for people to maintain an active lifestyle. The project will make investments in outdoor play areas so that children have available, accessible and safe recreational infrastructure for play and it will upgrade trails throughout Iqaluit so that people have clearly marked to trails to use for hiking. Further investements will be made to improve ice plants at indoor rink facilities to provide the public with other opportunities for exercise.
