Grants and Contributions:
As a result of the project, at least three Indigenous community development corporations and 15 Indigenous-owned businesses will be supported through advisory and mentorship services, workshops and networking. Up to 15 Indigenous economic development corporations and businesses will expand market access to the Government of Canada contracts for mining reclamation and remediation projects. The project will also create five new jobs, maintain 10 and expand 15 jobs.
Inclusive Diversification and Economic Advancement in the North (IDEANorth) makes foundational investments in economic infrastructure, sector development and capacity building to help position Northerners in the territories to take advantage of Canada's innovation economy. The IDEANorth program focuses on four priority areas: economic growth and sector development; business scale-up, productivity and innovation; small-scale economic infrastructure development; and foundational economic infrastructure.
