Description:

Funding to complete a comprehensive work plan to enhance capacity in Indigenous communities, development corporations, businesses and workforce participation in major remediation projects in the Northwest Territories (NWT).

Expected Results:

As a result of the project, at least three Indigenous community development corporations and 15 Indigenous-owned businesses will be supported through advisory and mentorship services, workshops and networking. Up to 15 Indigenous economic development corporations and businesses will expand market access to the Government of Canada contracts for mining reclamation and remediation projects. The project will also create five new jobs, maintain 10 and expand 15 jobs.
