Contracting a vessel to collect fish tracking data near Pond Inlet, Clyde River and Qikiqtarjuaq to support the Arctic Ocean Tracking Network (OTN) program.

As a result of this project, there will be a better understanding of the stock or population structure of Greenland Halibut, Greenland Shark and Arctic Skate surrounding northeast Baffin Island.This data will be used to support the continued development of Nunavut's inshore and offshore fishing industry, which will facilitate Indigenous/Inuit access to stock allocations, the creation of employment opportunities for Inuit fish harvesters and processors in Nunavut as well as increase local food security.
