Description:
The Governments of Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut are receiving $420,000 (66% of total project costs) towards a three-year $630,000 pan-territorial investment promotion initiative to support mining sector development. The initiative is aimed at increasing the profile of the Canadian North’s geological endowment and investment opportunities in the territories’ mining industries, and will be done by planning and executing specific investment promotion events at a number of leading mining industry focused trade events.

Expected Results:

As a result of this project, the Governments of Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut anticipate developing internal capacity within the three territorial governments to execute trade marketing initiatives aimed at attracting domestic and foreign direct investment. Furthermore, the Governments of Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut anticipate that the investment promotion events held will lead to a trackable increase in equity investments in YT, NT and NU mining and exploration companies, which will help support employment and business opportunities the mineral sector.
