Description:
The NWT and Nunavut Chamber of Mines (the Chamber) will host the Canada North Pavillion at the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Annual Conference each year from 2025 to 2027.  The Chamber will arrange and contract with the conference in order to host the Canada North Pavillion, Coordinate with Northern Partners across the three territories

Expected Results:

Held annually in Toronto, PDAC is the premier mineral exploration and mining convention, with over 1,100 exhibitors, 700 speakers, and 30,000 attendees from 135 countries. The project supports the continuation of the CanNor initiative, which was successfully organized by the NPMO team for the last three PDAC conferences. CanNor, territorial governments, Indigenous development corporations, and the industry will continue to jointly promote northern projects to the global investment community. The Chamber will conduct outreach, book exhibitor spaces, coordinate northern participation, and promote the Northern Pavilion.

Program Purpose:

Inclusive Diversification and Economic Advancement in the North (IDEANorth) makes foundational investments in economic infrastructure, sector development and capacity building to help position Northerners in the territories to take advantage of Canada's innovation economy. The IDEANorth program focuses on four priority areas: economic growth and sector development; business scale-up, productivity and innovation; small-scale economic infrastructure development; and foundational economic infrastructure.
