Darrell’s Welding Ltd., the operator of Castaway Cottages is receiving $99,999 toward a 1-year project to expand business operation. The expansion project includes two main capital items sections.

The project is expected to take place in Hay River during the summer of 2024 to be ready for the aurora/ice fishing season the following winter. As a result of this project, Castaway Cottages will purchase an amphibious vehicle and two aurora viewing/ice fishing structures; expanding their tourism offerings and create 3-4 jobs.
