3542 Yukon Ltd. is receiving a $234,000 repayable contribution (50% of total project costs) to support the purchase of new refrigeration equipment in order to expand their capacity to sell locally grown produce and other goods in order to contribute to food security in the Yukon and reduce Yukoner's dependence on southern food production.

Expected Results:
As a result of this project, 3542 Yukon Ltd. anticipates to continue expanding the number of local businesses whose products they sell. For their two main local produce suppliers, Yukon Gardens and Sarah's Harvest, they anticipate being able to sell 50%-60% more product with new refrigeration units that will enable them to safety store the food. Having more local food available for purchase promotes food security in the Yukon and reduces Yukoner's dependence on southern food production.
