Description:
The Sachs Harbour Hunters and Trappers Committee will implement the Country Foods Processing & Chiller Facility Development Project to enhance food security and promote economic development within Sachs Harbour. The project aims to establish a modular processing facility for country foods, enabling the community to harvest, process, and store local foods such as fish, muskox, and waterfowl, while also contributing to the country food program and regional cooperation through product shipments to the ICEDO facility, in Inuvik.

Expected Results:
As a result of the project, the Sachs Harbour Hunters and Trappers Committee will improve local food security, reduce reliance on expensive imported products, and create seven full-time equivalent jobs in management, processing, and harvesting roles.
