As a result of the project, TIAY will create 9 full-time equivalent (FTE) positions in Yukon's tourism sector over the three-year period and the program will establish a sustainable pipeline for qualified tourism workers, strengthen institutional partnerships for ongoing recruitment, enhance Yukon's competitiveness in attracting skilled seasonal workers, and create a replicable model for addressing northern labour market challenges.
Inclusive Diversification and Economic Advancement in the North (IDEANorth) makes foundational investments in economic infrastructure, sector development and capacity building to help position Northerners in the territories to take advantage of Canada's innovation economy. The IDEANorth program focuses on four priority areas: economic growth and sector development; business scale-up, productivity and innovation; small-scale economic infrastructure development; and foundational economic infrastructure.
