Description:
The Council of Yukon First Nations will support the establishment and operation of a centralized liaison position within CYFN to coordinate Yukon First Nations’ engagement with the Department of National Defence (DND), the Canadian Institute for Arctic Security, and other federal initiatives related to Arctic sovereignty, infrastructure, and emergency management.

Expected Results:

This project is expected to result in the creation of 1 full-time equivalent and a secondary part-time position, contributing to local employment and capacity building. The initiative will strengthen Indigenous representation in Arctic defence planning, improve access to federal procurement opportunities, and support long-term economic development in Yukon communities. The project is anticipated enhance Yukon First Nations engagement in the security and defence sector and to enhance readiness for future infrastructure and emergency management initiatives.
