As a result of this project, one new job will be created for a full-time guide, helping with employee retention. At the territorial level, it will help to fill gaps identified by the departure of Culture and Tourism with more winter accommodations and tour availability and offerings unique to what is currently marketed. This project is also 'off the beaten path' drawing some tourists out of the already saturated Whitehorse area. Finally, this expansion will support the retail and food sector, through the acquisition of local products from small producers and retailers for the meals provided. The goal is to have the experience online and market ready in summer 2024 and selling first tours in winter 2025.
