Description:
The Strategic Partnerships Initiative (SPI) initiative to coordinate collaborative efforts, reduce administrative burden and pool resources to support Indigenous communities. This SPI project is led by Indigenous Services Canada (ISC). CIRNAC and CanNor NWT Region championed the SPI-funded project to support the remediation economy to enhance Indigenous participation in major mining remediation projects in the NWT.

Expected Results:

As a result of the project, at least three Indigenous community development corporations and 15 Indigenous-owned businesses will be supported by Catalyste+ through advisory and mentorship services, workshops and networking. Up to 15 Indigenous economic development corporations and businesses will expand market access to the Government of Canada contracts for mining reclamation and remediation projects. The project will also create five new jobs, maintain 10 and expand 15 jobs.
