Appropriate information and services to address settlement needs; Awareness of community and other resources to deal with settlement issues; Connections to communities and public institutions; Knowledge of life in Canada, including laws, rights, and responsibilities; Knowledge, skills, and connections related to the Canadian work environment; Official language skills and other skills for adapting to Canadian society; Partners and stakeholders are engaged in settlement and implement strategies to address newcomers needs; Settlement and non-settlement services are responsive to the needs of newcomers and communities
For Canada to realize the economic, social and cultural benefits of immigration, newcomers must integrate successfully into Canadian society. To provide newcomers with the information required to make informed decision, language skills adequate to their settlement and integration goals, and the support they need to build networks within their new communities.
