To increase understanding and dialogue for regulatory mechanisms addressing unethical recruitment practices.
To identify the most significant policy and program gaps for various jurisdictions internationally; dissemination and promotion of best standards, practices, and lessons learned on the topic of ethical recruitment.
To produce and distribute a written report by leading academic researchers specialized in this area for effective regulation of labour recruiters.
To create bilateral and multilateral relationships advancing global migration policies on ethical recruitment regulation.
The IOM, an organization part of the United Nations system, is committed to the principle that safe, orderly and regular migration benefits migrants and society, acts to: assist in meeting the operational challenges of migration, advance understanding of migration issues, encourage social and economic development through migration, and
work towards effective respect of the human rights and well-being of migrants.
To provide funding to organizations that are active in the areas of international migration policy development and research and whose independent work as a third party offers a valuable contribution for consideration in Canadian international migration and citizenship policy development and implementation.
