Grants and Contributions:
Building on the momentum from the IMCBP-funded first global conference on the regulation of international recruitment in June 2019 (at which 30 countries participated), IRCC is partnering again with the IOM to enhance ethical recruitment practices in Mexico to better protect migrant workers coming to Canada.
To build understanding of risks for migrant workers, gaps in protection and capacity to address them by stakeholders involved in all stages of international recruitment (Canadian federal and provincial governments, employers, and civil society).
To gain the commitment on the principles of ethical recruitment from leading companies and employers in Canada.
To build capacity of recruiters in Mexico to foster ethical recruitment of migrant workers.
To develop business relationships between recruiters in Mexico and employers in Canada upon which a Mexico-Canada ethical recruitment corridor can be implemented and sustained between both countries.
The purpose of the IMCBP is to provide funding to eligible grant beneficiaries for initiatives that advance global migration policies and programs, in support of Canada’s migration and humanitarian objectives.
