Title:
Grant Arrangement between Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
Agreement Number:
-
Agreement Value:
$50,000.00
Agreement Date:
Dec 19, 2019 - Dec 18, 2020
Description:
Develop website to inform migrants in Niger of their refugee status determination
Organization:
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
Expected Results:

To contribute to the global efforts to address the life-threatening conditions of refugees in Libya, many of whom had been evacuated to Niger as of June 2019.

To prevent ETM evacuees (now relocated to Niger) and refugees, including vulnerable populations, from having to travel to access the status of their application by developing an electronic platform for them to access this information online.

The platform will further allow UNHCR to decrease the resources they spend on meeting with ETM evacuees and refugees to inform them of their application status, thereby allowing the Organization to reallocate resources to other sectors in need.
