Grants and Contributions:
To report on key results achieved from the regional meeting with States including recommendations for stronger border management per country, with an assistance procedure mechanism that could be implemented by participating countries.
The IOM, an organization part of the United Nations system, is committed to the principle that safe, orderly and regular migration benefits migrants and society, acts to: assist in meeting the operational challenges of migration, advance understanding of migration issues, encourage social and economic development through migration, and
work towards effective respect of the human rights and well-being of migrants.
To provide funding to organizations that are active in the areas of international migration policy development and research and whose independent work as a third party offers a valuable contribution for consideration in Canadian international migration and citizenship policy development and implementation.
