Description:
The overarching objective of the third funding program for PTSI in PSP is to build the evidence base for PSP-specific support systems, through targeted research on two recognized and established support streams: crisis/suicide prevention lines and app-based peer-to-peer support models. The specific objectives of this funding opportunity are: • To develop the necessary research supports and resources to allow innovative research questions around the merit, validity, and appropriateness of developing targeted PSP support systems to be addressed, using the core technologies/methodologies in place at the hub. • To facilitate the access and use by independent research groups to the core technologies/methodologies available at the hub, to address novel research questions around these issues. • To work collaboratively with independent research groups on expanding the research capacities and capabilities of the core technologies/methodologies in place at the hubs. • To conduct additional research studies with existing centre expertise on the core technologies/methodologies, to address key underlying questions around these support models. • To develop common approaches to data collection and measurement that could facilitate future studies in this area, and to provide these to the broader research community when available.
