CIHR in partnership with The Mach-Gaensslen Foundation (MGF) • The Mach-Gaensslen Foundation will provide funding for applications determined to be specifically relevant to support research and the development of research capacity in one or more of the areas of mental health, addictions and cognitive health including disease mechanisms, disease prevention, management and treatment, health systems and policies, and health promotion through public policy. The Mach-Gaensslen Foundation’s objectives are to carry out, support, and promote medical research in the fields of cardiology, oncology, and psychiatry in Canada; to disseminate the findings of such research to the interested public and to promote excellence in education in the fields of cardiology, oncology, and psychiatry. In recent years, a top priority of the foundation has been working to increase mental health and addictions research in Canada. As such, the MGF fellowship award is focused specifically on research in the areas of mental health, addictions and cognitive health.
