Description:
The Research component of the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) Class Grant and Contribution Program to support Research, Awareness and Learning in Space Science and Technology provides financial support to organizations to conduct space related research and development in priority areas. It will support targeted knowledge development and innovation to sustain and enhance the Canadian capacity to use space to address national needs and priorities in the future.
More specifically, this project entitled "" The SatCODE Project - Building a Concurrent Design Model of Satellite Platforms "" has the objective (s): The objective of phase 1 of the satCODE project aims to setup in Canada the tools required to conduct Concurrent Design activities for spacecraft platform development projects. Once these tools are in place at the end of Phase 1, we intend to engage in the further use of Concurrent Design with Canadian partners (e.g. industry, government, or academia) in targeted spacecraft platform design projects (Phase 2), and eventually be ready to provide our Concurrent Design services on a recurrent basis (Phase 3), also expanding to other space engineering domains such as instrument or ground segment design.
The more specific objectives of satCODE Phase 1 covered by this proposal are:
-To make available a complete spacecraft platform data model to Canadian industry and academia;
-To increase ADGA's Canadian staff competence in Concurrent Design tools and methodology for spacecraft
platforms design;
-To train Canadian professionals in the use of Concurrent Design applied to spacecraft platform projects
