Description:
This project entitled ""G-Band - The Next Generation of Cloud Profiling Radars"" focuses on the development of G-band radar technology dedicated to do cloud profiling. Ka- and W-band radars are currently being used to better understand clouds and cloud processes, and their representation in global atmospheric circulation models. There are still gaps in the ability to probe clouds. Using a G-band radar could significantly improve current profiling capabilities in boundary layer clouds, cirrus and mid-level ice clouds, and precipitating snow.
