Description:
This research project will focus on enhanced predictions of surface energy fluxes and ecosystem productivity through improved satellite observation and assimilation of soil moisture data from in-situ and SMAP data. In addition, the project aims to further develop the Canadian Land Data Assimilation System (CaLDAS) using a coupled water and carbon cycle modeling methodology and a parameter optimization scheme.
