Ion Heating and Outflow Simulate how ultra-low-frequency plasma waves in our magnetosphere interact with the atmosphere close to Earth. These waves can heat up ions in our atmosphere, and launch them deeper into space. Ion upflow can lead to the loss of atmosphere into space.
