Title:
Are Dark Red Small KBOs Devoid of Volatiles? Full Characterization of KBOs Observed With JWST
Agreement Number:
23JWGO2A11
Agreement Value:
$48,620.00
Agreement Date:
Feb 15, 2024 - Oct 31, 2026
Description:
Following the JWST ERS and Cycle 2 GO Announcement of Opportunity published on July 6, 2023, the CSA is providing funding via a Grant Agreement to the university to conduct their research using the JWST data. This project will measure multi-band spectrophotometry of several Kuiper Belt Objects (KBOs) that have already been observed by a number of ground and space-based facilities. These observations will provide detailed compositional and multiplicity information about these bodies. The result of this work is a sample of the most highly characterized KBOs which will be invaluable for deciphering the formative vs. evolutionary processes these objects have undergone.
