Description:
The scientific instruments on the CASSIOPE satellite each have unique and innovative measurement capabilities, for observing space weather in the upper atmosphere at unprecedented resolution. They have operated for 8 years since their launch in 2013, performing well beyond original expectations and the original 1-year design-life. This project aims to enhance and improve the CASSIOPE mission data reduction and visualization software, to further exploit the scientific potential of the mission data, by incorporating the lessons learned and scientific discoveries made to date, and making the data fully open access and the data access software more user-friendly.

Expected Results:

The Research component of the program provides financial support to organizations to conduct space related research and development in priority areas. It will support targeted knowledge development and innovation to sustain and enhance the Canadian capacity to use space to address national needs and priorities in the future.
