Agreement Number:

Agreement Value:
$209,000.00
Agreement Date:
Dec 18, 2023 - Mar 31, 2025
Description:
This project is a continuation of improvements and maintenance to the 26 kilometers of the rural municipality road in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan that provides access to Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge (OOHL). The original agreement from 2014, “Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge Access Road Improvement”, identified this requirement as Phase 3 as per below: Phase-3 will be the maintenance phase that will cover the annual maintenance of the access road for a period of 7 years from 2015 to 2022.
The Crown recently signed an MOU to continue the operation of Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge until 2046. To re-establish and properly maintain the service level of the access road (rural primary grid road) over the course of this MOU, additional funds are required for road improvements and maintenance. The Prairie Region Technical Services and Facilities Management division is advancing a separate project under their Program of Work in which the contracted consultant will provide the deliverables for bringing the road back to service level, as well as provide a long term maintenance strategy until 2046.
The RM of Maple Creek will continue to provide services including but not limited to:
- Annual maintenance of the complete 26 kilometer length of road, including snowplowing of roads in winter, thawing of culverts, grading, shaping, gravelling, and emergency work related to rutting, washboards, potholes, slides and run offs
- Application of road hardener (magnesium chloride) as dust abatement measures
- Additional preventative and/or reactive road maintenance required in response to weather and road conditions
- Deliverables identified by the consultant to bring the road back to service level, as well as implementation of the long-term maintenance strategy.
