Description:
The project aims to support the design and drafting of the National Drug Strategy (NDS) and National Plan of Action (NPA) of Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadine to improve their response to drug trafficking. This project will improve their institutional capacity by promoting the inclusion of measurable actions in their NDS and NPA, including but not limited to, drug trafficking, crime prevention through the improvement of health and justice cooperation, regulatory landscape, and information strategies. This project forms part of a larger, multi-decade effort by the Recipient, providing technical assistance to OAS member states for the development and improvement of national drug strategies (NDS).

a) Improved capacity of key stakeholders to formulate a balanced National Drug Strategy (NDS) & National Plan of Action (NPA) mindful of human right, gender, and M&E.

b) Evidence base and human resource capacity created to facilitate the development of NDS and NPA, including gender-related statistics from national drug observatories.

Program:
Anti-Crime Capacity Building Program (ACCBP)
Program Purpose:
The objective of the ACCBP is to enhance the capacity of key beneficiary States and government entities to prevent and respond to threats posed by international criminal activity by providing transfer payment assistance in a manner consistent with international anti-crime and human rights obligations, norms and standards. In doing so, the ACCBP contributes to improving Canada’s national security, and the security of Canadians abroad, by addressing global transnational security threats, with a focus on the Americas. The Program also builds on previous crime program commitments that support regional and multilateral initiatives that focus on global crime issues.
